2nd century wealthy cemetery discovered in Italy

An ancient cemetery has been discovered during a two-year excavation for the installation of a solar power plant in Rome, Italy.

According to foreign media, 67 structures found in 57 graves in this cemetery, which are said to belong to rich people.

Archaeologists have expressed surprise at this discovery and believe that this cemetery dates back to the 2nd to 4th century AD.

According to foreign media, the bodies found in the cemetery wore gold jewelry and expensive leather shoes and were buried about 20 inches below the surface of the earth.

Gold necklaces, earrings, silver rings, precious stones, pots, coins, polished glasses, amulets and clothes also found in this cemetery.

The head of the excavation team (Emanuele Giannini) says that the structures found were still wearing expensive items and shoes.

There is no sign of physical labor on the bones of the structures, which suggests that these were not local farmers but wealthy members of Roman families from the cities.
