A US State Department spokesperson says that US and Pakistani officials meet regularly. Ssuch meetings are standard practice.
US Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vedant Patel says during a press briefing that he can not say anything about the Pakistani ambassador’s State Department meeting.
He says that there are very few countries that terrorism affects like Pakistan. Counter-terrorism is part of our common interests.
He further states that organizations like Tehreek-e-Taliban are a threat to the region, they want a strong partnership with Pakistan to combat terrorism.
The spokesperson of the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs further said that Pakistan expects action against global and regional terrorist organizations.
