Punjab government decided to buy 2,000 drones for numerous provincial institutions, reported News on Friday.
The Punjab Home Department has submitted all the particulars on the purchase of drones to the Chief Minister’s House.
As per the official sources, 1,500 modern drones will be purchased for Punjab police.
The police will use those drones for arresting criminals, search operations, traffic arrangements and searching for the missing persons.
200 drones will be purchased for Rescue 1122, and as several drones will be purchased for Agriculture and Housing departments.
Drones will be beneficial for the rescue service to timely respond to the emergencies.
The Mines and Minerals Department has also informed the government for the purchase of 100 drone cameras.

The purpose of purchasing drone cameras is surveillance, exploration and monitoring.
Data collection and data analysis will also be done with the help of drones.
