The first clip from the much-anticipated documentary was released ahead of the series’ expected release next week. And it comes just as the British royal family wrestles with a new race.

Which leads to rifts with the rest of the family. Especially with Harry’s father, King Charles and older brother Prince William.

The last time Harry and Meghan speak openly about their relationship with other members of the royal family in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021. Plunging the institution into its biggest crisis in recent times. The royal family will horrify by new damaging revelations.

The timing of the trailer and documentary couldn’t have been better for Netflix. William and his wife Kate currently in Boston, and Buckingham Palace engaging William’s godmother in the racism row. Prince William & Kate Middleton’s Boston party spoiled.

“Harry and Meghan. Netflix Global Event,” the streaming service says on Twitter.

The accompanying trailer features never-before-seen black-and-white photos of the royal couple. And one of them at an official event with William and Kate, all four looking grim.

Royals fans and observers believe the choice of photo suggests Meghan and Harry will launch a new attack on the Prince and Princess of Wales.

“No one sees what goes on behind close doors,” Harry is hear saying in the trailer.

He is later can see saying: “I have to do everything I can to protect my family.”

At the end, Harry is shown throwing his head back while Meghan wipes away tears.

While no official release date has been given for the six-part documentary, the media has widely reported that it will air on December 8.

Netflix says the series will “share the other side of their high-profile love story” and “explore the challenges that forced them to step away from their full-time roles at the institution”.

William and Kate’s first international trip

The spotlight on Harry and Meghan comes as William and Kate make their first international trip since Queen Elizabeth’s death and with their new titles of Prince and Princess of Wales.

While he is due to meet US President Joe Biden in what will be his first visit to the US in eight years. The main purpose is for the couple to attend an award ceremony for the EarthShot Environmental Prize, which William organized.

“Our number one focus … is the Earthshot prize and we will not distract by other things.” A source close to William says before the trip.

But, it is already overshadow by other events. On Wednesday, the prince’s 83-year-old godmother step down from her honorary role in the royal family after repeatedly asking Ngozi Fulani, a black woman, at a high-profile Buckingham Palace event, “What part of Africa are you from?”

Fulani, who was born in the UK and works for a domestic abuse advocacy group, described the incident as “abuse”.

Both Buckingham Palace and William immediately condemned the incident. The prince’s spokesman saying “racism has no place in our society”.

To top off a bad day for William and Kate, during a visit to a Boston Celtics basketball game, some in the crowd chanted “USA, USA” when pictures of them were shown on a big screen in the stadium. UK media reports says the couple face some cheering from the crowd.
