Pakistan’s number one badminton player Mahoor Shahzad was on a break due to her marriage. After 3 months Mahoor Shahzad participates in the All Pakistan National Ranking Badminton Championship in Hyderabad, winning singles and doubles titles.
She defeats Ghazala Siddiq by 23-21 and 21-12 in the women’s singles final. While Mahoor and Ghazala Siddique defeates Alja Tariq and Samia Tariq by 21-13 and 21-10 in the women’s doubles.
Olympian Mahoor Shahzad told media that “I am happy, when I returned to the game after a break due to marriage, I win the first tournament of the new year.”
She also says that this tournament is very important for me because I want to make a good start after marriage. I was also out of practice but still I managed to perform well and I won in singles and doubles.

Mahoor Shahzad says that my parents have always supported me and because of them I am at this place today, now I am getting a lot of support from my in-laws and especially my husband, that’s why I have continued the game.
She further says that I will be seen in action in the future as well, this year is the Asian Games and I want to do well for Pakistan. I will represent Pakistan again in the Olympics.
