Foreign Investment in 85 companies of Pakistan. Other countries including China, Germany, United Kingdom and America have invested in 85 companies of Pakistan.

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered 2,374 new companies last December.

According to the announcement, after the new registrations, the number of registered companies has increased to 183 thousand 744.

The paid up capital of newly registered companies is 4 billion 10 crore rupees.

Major part of the investment came from China, Germany, Afghanistan, United Kingdom, USA, Iran and South Africa.

The SECP statement added that 99.8 percent of companies registered online in December.

Major part of the investment came from China with 48 companies, 5 from Germany, 4 from Afghanistan, United Kingdom and USA, 2 from Iran and South Africa and 16 companies from other countries.

In the last month of calendar year 2022, about 56 percent of companies registered as private limited companies.

While 41 percent registered as single member companies.

The remaining 3 percent registered as public unlisted companies, not-for-profit associations, foreign companies and limited liability partnerships (LLP).

Real estate development and construction sector led with 427. Information technology 329, trading 292, services 218, education 107, tourism 104, food and beverages 89, e-commerce 82, corporate agricultural farming. 63, 55 in textiles and mining and quarrying, 51 with pharmaceuticals, 50 with marketing and advertising, and 452 companies in other sectors are register.

As a result of the merger of SECP with FBR and various provincial departments, 2,172 companies are register with FBR for NTN production, 60 companies with EOBI, 34 companies with PSI/CS.

37 companies are register with Excise and Taxation Department.

SECP has also started special WhatsApp facility to receive queries.

During December 2022, around 1,382 WhatsApp queries were sent from local and foreign investors regarding name availability and inclusion. With a 96% satisfaction rate.
