PM Shehbaz Sharif apologizes for power breakdown

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed regret for the difficulties faced by the citizens after the historic power breakdown across the country.

He writes in his tweet that I apologize for the inconvenience. Which is caused to our citizens due to the power outage on behalf of my government yesterday.

Monday’s blackout engulfed schools, factories and shops and left many of Pakistan’s 220 million people without drinking water as even electric pumps failed to work.

Shehbaz Sharif also writes that on my order, an inquiry is underway to find out the reasons for this breakdown. Those responsible will also determined.

In major businesses and institutions, including major hospitals, military and government facilities, backup generators began operating.

Power mostly restored, although blackouts remained in parts of the country on Tuesday.

“At 5:15 am today, power fully restored,” Dastgir said on Tuesday. He blames the outage on a technical glitch but also offer a “remote chance” that caused by hackers targeting the country’s grid system.

The minister also expresses confidence in Shehbaz Sharif three-member committee. Which is expected to complete a preliminary investigation in a few days. He said that we will fully cooperate with him.
