UN mission helicopter crashes, 6 Pakistani soldiers including officers martyred

UN Mission helicopter crashed, 6 Pakistani soldiers including officers martyred. Puma helicopter crashed in Congo. Pakistan Army Public Relations Department ISPR confirmed the crash. According to details, Pakistan Army personnel serving under the UN peacekeeping mission in Congo were involved in a tragic accident.

According to a statement issued by ISPR, an aviation unit of the Pakistan Army had an accident at UN Mission Congo. During the accident, six Pakistani soldiers, including officers aboard the helicopter, were martyred in the crash. While a total of eight personnel, including Pakistani soldiers, were martyred in the crash. The martyred Pakistanis include Lieutenant Colonel Asif, Major Saad, Assistant Pilot Major Faizan Ali, Deputy Subedar Samiullah Khan, Hawaldar Muhammad Ismail, and Crew Chief Muhammad Jamil.

Pakistan Aviation Unit has been deployed in the UN peacekeeping mission in Congo since 2011. The Pakistan Army spokesman said that Pakistan has always played a responsible role in the international community. Pakistan is increasingly playing a role in the UN mission, our peacekeepers have always performed challenging tasks.
