Once again flour disappeared from shops in Lahore, flour mill owners announced a strike across Punjab from yesterday.
Government subsidized flour bag of 10 kg is not available in most of the shops while the supply of commercial flour of 15 kg has also decreased.
The Punjab government has suspended the wheat quota of 12 flour mills that instigated the strike, Secretary Food Punjab says that they will not come in for blackmail. Punjab flour mill owners announced strike from tomorrow.

On the other hand, the price of chicken also increased in various cities including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta.
Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) Punjab Chapter Chairman Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmad Mattoo issued a warning that if the provincial food department does not heed their demands. A planned strike will held on February 14. During the press conference, PFMA Punjab Chairman Mattu criticized the inappropriate behavior and wrong policies of the Provincial Secretary Food.
According to ARY News, the chairman says that due to the wrong policies of the Food Secretary, the supply of flour affected due to which several flour mills have been shut down. He further announced that flour mills will stop receiving wheat quota from the government from February 13.
The price of a kilo of chicken has gone up to Rs 600.
