LAHORE: International Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar was given a special award for completing the 5th century of international matches at the end of the Pakistan-Australia First ODI at Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday. Aleem Dar has already won the honor of umpiring in most Test matches. So far he has officiated in 139 Test matches. The previous record was held by West Indies’ Steve Buckner, who officiated in 128 Test matches. He has also officiated in the 212 ODIs so far. Aleem Dar currently holds the honor of umpiring in most of the 60 Twenty20 International matches. There are many important matches in Aleem Dar’s international career in which his correct decisions are remembered but the Cardiff Test of the 2009 Ashes series was memorable for Aleem Dar in which his correct decisions were appreciated by all. ۔ This is the same Test match in which James Anderson and Monty Panesar played 11.3 overs to save England from defeat. The last moments of this match were no less than a test for Aleem Dar in which he was doing well. Aleem Dar’s long list of correct decisions also includes Sachin Tendulkar’s decision to be given LBW on Monte Panesar’s ball. It was also Monte Panesar’s first wicket in his first Test. One of the proofs of Aleem Dar’s ability to make correct decisions is the 2011 World Cup in which 15 of his decisions were reviewed and technology proved all 15 decisions correct. He was the only umpire in this World Cup whose decision was not proved wrong in DRS. Aleem Dar has repeatedly faced the captains’ aggressive stance on his decisions, such as Australian captain Ricky Ponting’s misbehavior with him in the 2010 Ashes series Melbourne Test, but he later had to apologize for his behavior. And it had to be said that they respect Aleem Dar and their discussion was not with Aleem Dar but with technology. Like a successful cricketer, a successful umpire has a measure of how strong he is physically and mentally and how capable his eyes are of making the right decisions. Because of these qualities, Aleem Dar has been viewed with respect throughout his career. His fellow umpires appreciate his abilities and the cricketers on the field with him are well aware that Aleem Dar’s decisions can only be challenged with forethought as very few of his decisions have been proven wrong and he Has set a certain standard of umpiring. Aleem Dar has a very simple rule about his umpiring that every human being can make a mistake but if a decision is changed then it should not be on your mind because it distracts you and you And they make mistakes.
