Britain’s King Charles and his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, wanted Kate Middleton to change her name after marrying Prince William.
Prince Harry revealed in his book ‘Spare’ that his father wanted sister-in-law Kate Middleton’s name changed to ‘K’ instead of ‘C’.
After her relationship with Prince William, Catherine Middleton shortened her name to ‘Kate’ and used a ‘K’ instead of a ‘C’ which royal watchers thought was for the commonality but there may be other motivations behind the decision.
“I remember the time my dad and stepmom Camilla wanted to change the ‘C’ in the spelling of my sister-in-law Kate Middleton name to a ‘K’. Because they both have their own names starts from C’ ,” he writes.

He further wrote that ‘Dad felt there would be too much confusion to add another name. When the royal family already has two names spelled with ‘C’.
Prince Harry wrote that therefore it suggested that Catherine Middleton be spelled with a ‘K’ instead of a ‘C’ meaning (Katherine Middleton).
He wrote, ‘I was wondering what the outcome of this proposal would be. And I turned to my brother and said, ‘Are you listening to all this, he was absolutely fantastic.’
She further wrote that ‘Dad never supported me and William financially because everything Dad did for us, was just an investment.
