Its expected that the Election Commission will give a date for holding elections in Punjab and KP in the last week of April or in May 2023.
A meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan held on Thursday. In which the matter considered after the Supreme Court’s decision, but no decision make made yet. The meeting will held again on Friday for final decision.
Informed sources say that the opinion of the commission is very clear that the decision of the Supreme Court has to be followed. And the President has to give the date in Punjab.
These sources say that the elections will not possible within 90 days of the dissolution of the assemblies. While they will not held within 54 days after the announcement of the date by the President and Governor KP.

It is possible the commission may suggest a date after Ramadan and Eid. Date options are to be in the last week of April or early May.
When the sources asked about whether the institutions at the federal and provincial levels who had shown reluctance to support the commission are now ready for support. These sources say that the stage of communication with the stakeholders is the date of the election in both provinces will come after the announcement.
