ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has said that Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has been removed from his post.
However, he did not give reasons for the removal of Chaudhry Sarwar. He said that the new Governor of Punjab would be announced later.
However, according to the constitution, Deputy Speaker Sardar Dost Mohammad Mazari will be the acting governor who is also performing the duties of speaker of the Punjab Assembly after Chaudhry Parvez Elahi became the chief ministerial candidate.
