Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif does not recognize PTI Chairman Imran Khan as a politician.
He indicated this after addressing the commemorative golden jubilee session of the Senate at the Parliament House on Thursday evening. Where he invited all political forces to come forward and cooperate with each other to overcome the country’s external complications.
The News asked him whether the offer of friendship or reconciliation also includes the PTI chairman who badmouthed all other political parties.
Shahbaz Sharif laughed while answering and asked another question that do you see him as a politician?
Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, Leader of the Senate and Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Law and Justice Minister Senator Azam Nazir Tarar were also present.
The Prime Minister said that he has invited all political parties and leaders to play their constructive role for the betterment of the people and the country.
He further said that whoever considers himself a politician should come forward for the sake of the country.
The prime minister’s offer got another dimension as Imran Khan earlier in the day in a conciliatory tone said he was ready to talk to anyone and make any sacrifice for the country’s ‘progress, interest and democracy’.
Today (Friday) will be the last day of Golden Jubilee celebrations. The Prime Minister reminded that many times in the past the political leadership has come together to solve problems. He cited the example of 2014 when the political leadership united against terrorism.
Shahbaz Sharif said that nations deal with such challenges with political vision. Shahbaz recalled that he used to listen to his predecessor’s speech but would leave without listening to him. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif did not forget to invite unity to deal with the challenges facing Pakistan.
He said that a national leader does not have ego, arrogance, hatred and anger. He says that political differences should be left aside and decisions should be taken. There is still time for us to come to our senses.
He assured the citizens of good times ahead. The Prime Minister says that economic stability cannot achieved without political stability.
PM expressed regret that the previous government backed out of the agreement made with the IMF.
He further said that it was not a private but a state agreement which caused a great loss to the country due to its non-implementation.
He expressed confidence that the staff level agreement with the IMF would finalized soon.
The Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif criticized former Prime Minister Imran Khan for ‘openly disobeying’ court orders and mocking state institutions by not appearing in courts.
