Federal Minister for Climate Change, Senator Sherry Rahman, has advised the provinces regarding the rains forecast.
She said that the Meteorological Department has predicted rains from April 28 to May 7. During which wind, hail and thundershowers expected in most parts of the country.
Sherry Rehman said that all the concerned agencies instructed to remain alert during this rains forecast time. The provinces advised to take precautionary measures.
He said that preventive measures include cleaning of drains, strengthening of electric poles, access to roads in case of localized flooding.
The federal minister says that there is a risk of floods and landslides in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Murree, Galiat, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from May 1 to 4. Flooding may occur.
She states that some parts of Balochistan, the hilly areas of DG Khan may experience floods from April 28 to May 2. During which time tourists advised to be cautious.
Sherry Rehman further says that there is a fear of urban flooding under the unstable weather system from Kashmir to Karachi. And a special advisory has also been issued for the coastal areas of Balochistan and Sindh.
