Govt alerts Judicial Commission to investigate audio leaks. According to News, the federal government established a three-member judicial commission on Saturday to look into the numerous audio leaks involving the judiciary.
Justice Qazi Faez Isa, a senior puisne judge on the Supreme Court, will serve as the commission’s chair.
Naeem Akhtar Afghan of the Balochistan High Court and Aamer Farooq of the Islamabad High Court are the other members of the judicial commission.
The commission given 30 days to complete the assignment.
“Whereas, recent widespread circulations of contentious audios witnessed on the national electronic, print, and social media. Allegedly regarding the Judiciary and former Chief Justices/Judges, conversation raising serious concerns. About the independence, impartiality, and uprightness of the Chief Justices/Judges of the Superior Courts in the administration of justice.” The government stated in a notification.
Additionally, the general public expressed grave concerns about the “independence, impartiality, and uprightness of the Chief Justices/Judges of the Superior Courts.” Which weakened by such audio leaks.

According to the notification, the judiciary one of the Constitution’s main pillars. And if its independence compromised, society lose faith in it.
