Ali Muhammad Khan released on bail after nearly 80 days. A senior leader of the PTI, Ali Muhammad Khan ordered by the Peshawar High Court (PHC) to released from Mardan prison on Thursday. Khan detained after the riots on May 9.

In connection with the violent protests brought on by Imran Khan’s arrest on May 9 in a corruption case, Khan was first detained by the Islamabad Capital Territory Police on May 11 under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order Order (MPO).

Enraged party members accused of attacking private and public properties, including military installations like the General Headquarters (GHQ) entrance in Rawalpindi and the Lahore Corps Commander’s House or Jinnah House, during the days-long protests, which came to an end only after the PTI chief released. During the violent protests, at least eight people died.

Since then, the PTI leader granted several court-ordered releases, only to arrested shortly after each release.

According to the PTI’s official Twitter account, Khan held for 80 days in eight different “bogus cases.”

The PHC granted the PTI leader’s bail request earlier today and ordered his release from custody.

Khan’s bail request heard by PHC Justices Ijaz Anwar and Fazal Subhan.

Justice Anwar questioned the reason Ali Muhammad Khan detained during the case hearing.

The PTI leader detained in accordance with Section 3 of the MPO, the Mardan assistant deputy commissioner informed the court.

According to the PHC judge, the PTI leader has spent the past two months behind bars. “How did Ali Muhammad Khan disrupt the situation with law and order?” Justice Anwar made a query.

The deputy commissioner must appear in court at the subsequent hearing, the judge further ordered.

He issued a warning that if any deputy commissioner made an example of, no officer perform illegal work.

The PHC postponed the case hearing until August 8.
