According to Article 58-1 of the Constitution, the president dissolved the National Assembly on the advice of the prime minister, according to an official statement posted by the president’s office on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The current administration, which took office after former prime minister and PTI leader Imran Khan overthrown by a vote of no-confidence, had its term prematurely end with the dissolution of the lower house of parliament.
