Shah Rukh Khan fans lined up at 4.30 a.m to watch ‘Jawan’

Jubilant moviegoers thronged Indian cinemas before dawn on Thursday. They burst firecrackers and dance in the street to welcome the latest release of Jawan from one of the country’s biggest stars Shah Rukh Khan.

Some screenings started as early as 5 am. As fans of Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan thronged theaters to watch the nationwide premiere of his latest action thriller, “Jawan.”

Videos and photos posted on social media showed thousands of fans lining up outside cinemas across India. They chanted and cheer for Khan. And then dancing in packed cinema halls.

While they are watching the highly anticipated film. In a social media post, Khan thanked his fans and said they stayed up late to watch the commotion.

“Love you all I hope you enjoy the fun,” Khan posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. Stayed awake to see you go to the theater. Much love and thanks.”

Produced by Khan’s wife, Gauri Khan, and directed by prominent South Indian filmmaker Atlee. “Jawan” means soldier, is expected to do well at the box office, according to local media reports. Which has already earned nearly $6 million in advance bookings worldwide.

The film is the actor’s second film this year after a gap of four years from the screen.

Shah Rukh Khan also known as “King Khan” and “King of Bollywood”.

He has achieved the status of a deity in India, starring in more than 90 films and earning numerous accolades. From his humble beginnings to his early career struggles, Khan’s story has resonated with millions of his fans. Leaving an indelible legacy on Indian culture.

But he told in a 2008 interview that he was never interested in going into movies. It was one of his most defining and tragic moments that forced him to make the decision.

Khan won hearts with the 1995 hit film “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”. This love story was so touching that even after almost three decades it continues to play daily in a cinema in Mumbai.

Khan received the Padma Shri award, India’s fourth-highest civilian honor, in 2005. And a place on Time magazine’s 100 most influential list that year.

He returned to the limelight this year with “Pathan”. Which broke almost every Bollywood grossing record.

The film grossed $130 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. Becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of 2023 of all time. The second-highest-grossing Hindi film by tracking the film’s earnings.
