The caretaker cabinet of Punjab suspended the sentence of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Azizia reference.
The Caretaker Punjab Cabinet has approved the suspension of sentence through circulation. Provincial Caretaker Information Minister Amir Mir has confirmed in this regard.
The request for suspension of sentence was given by Nawaz Sharif.
Aamir Mir says that the caretaker cabinet suspended the sentence using the constitutional powers, the final decision of the case will be taken by the court.
Nawaz Sharif Al-Azizia reference sentence was suspended under Section 401 of the Criminal Procedural Code.
Under Section 401, the government has the power to pardon any convict.
