Google has paid a special tribute to famous comedian Farooq Qaiser aka ‘Uncle Sargam’ on the occasion of his 78th birthday.
Google has released a special doodle on the occasion of Farooq Qaiser’s birthday. In which a picture of his famous thin tamasha character ‘Uncle Sargam’ can be seen on an old TV.
Farooq Qaiser was born on October 31, 1945, in Sialkot, Punjab. His journey in the world of puppetry began while studying fine art at the National College of Arts, Lahore.
His illustrious career began in 1970 with the children’s TV program ‘Akar Bakar’.
Farooq Qaiser’s thirst for knowledge and passion for art led him to study abroad. Where he earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from the University of Bucharest. And a master’s degree in mass communication from the University of Southern California.
His famous TV shows were Kaliyan, Sargam Sargam and Docktime. But he rose to fame with the role of Uncle Sargam in PTV’s popular show ‘Kaliyan‘.
Farooq Qaiser is widely recognized for his contribution to both education and entertainment in Pakistan through television.

He has also received numerous awards including the Presidential Pride of Performance Award in 1993, the title of ‘Master Puppeteer’ by UNICEF in 1997 and the PTV Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010.
Farooq Qaiser passed away on 14 May 2021 after suffering from a heart discease.
