According to foreign media, the radio anchor was shot twice by a man who broke into his radio station on Sunday and the killing was witnessed live on Facebook.
The shooter entered the home radio station pretending to be listening to the broadcast and after the shooting, he fled with the victim’s gold chain.
According to the local police, one of the assailant’s associates was outside the house on a motorcycle and after the shooting, both escaped. The incident is under investigation.
The President of the Philippines condemned the incident and directed the police to arrest the attackers.
In this regard, he has said that attacks on journalists will not be tolerated in our democracy and those who are a threat to the freedom of the press will have to face the consequences.
