Pakistan is going to be a ‘digital hub’ in near future: Dr. Umar Saif

Caretaker Minister for IT Dr. Umar Saif has said that Pakistan is going to become a ‘digital hub’ in the near future, the world is appreciating Pakistani intelligence in freelancing, skill development and e-commerce.

The 54th World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland is being attended by caretaker IT Minister Dr Umar Saif, caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwarul Haq Kakar and world leaders.

Caretaker Minister for IT and Telecommunications Dr. Umar Saif is making efforts to introduce the Digital Pakistan brand globally in the Ongoing World Economic Forum from January 15 to 19. In this regard, he held important sideline meetings with international organizations and global organizational officials.

Dr. Umar Saif said that in the meeting with Secretary General DCO Dima Ilaha, there was a fruitful discussion on digital cooperation.

During the meetings, Dr. Saif discussed bilateral cooperation with Qatar’s IT Minister Mohammed bin Ali and Rwanda’s Communications Minister Paula Angibri.

Significant progress is expected on cooperation in Pakistan Startups Fund, joint cloud services between member countries while it was agreed to promote artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure in DCO countries, he said.

He also met Vice President Behshad Behzadi during his visit to Google House, he said. In which generative AI technology was discussed in detail.

He said that bilateral cooperation has been agreed for better use of Artificial Intelligence at public and private level in Pakistan.

Dr. Umar Saif says that DCO countries and Google are ready for all possible cooperation in information and communication technology.

He said that the world of Pakistani intelligence in freelancing, skill development and e-commerce is becoming famous. Pakistan is going to be a ‘digital hub’ in near future.
