Indian actress Suhani Bhatnagar, who played the role of Babita Phogat in Bollywood star Aamir Khan’s 2016 film ‘Dangal’, passed away at the age of 19 on Saturday morning.
Various claims were being made regarding the cause of death of Suhani Bhatnagar, including drug reaction and water retention in the body, but Suhani’s parents have lifted the curtain on the actual cause of death.
He revealed that ‘Suhani was suffering from a disease called dermatomyositis, the symptoms of which started appearing two months ago’.
He said that ‘due to this disease, Suhani had a rash on her body while her muscles became weak’.
He further said that although the symptoms of this disease started appearing two months ago, the diagnosis of the disease was made 10 days ago. Suhani was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences on February 7 and died on February 16.
Suhani’s mother revealed that ‘Red rash appeared on Suhani’s body after which we went to show her to doctors in different hospitals but the disease could not be diagnosed’.
Suhani’s father Somit Bhatnagar said that ‘Suhani’s condition was not improving and then her lungs were severely damaged due to infection and water retention. She was shifted to ventilator but still there was no improvement.
Sumat Bhatnagar claimed that the disease that caused Suhani Bhatnagar’s death, dermatomyositis, was found in only five or six people worldwide.
Suhani’s sudden demise left her fans extremely depressed while showbiz stars also seemed to be saddened by the news.
Actor Aamir Khan has paid tribute to the actress in his X post. He wrote that ‘We were deeply saddened to hear the news of Suhani’s death. Our heartfelt condolences to his mother Pooja ji and the entire family. Suhani was very talented and a team player. Dangal would not have been complete without her role.
