115 members take oath of KPK Assembly. The inaugural meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was held amid disorder and intimidation.
Speaker KP Assembly Mushtaq Ghani presided over the meeting.
The meeting of the KP Assembly was convened at 11 am which started more than one and a half hours late.
During the meeting, 115 newly elected members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly took oath, Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ghani took oath.
Chief Minister nominee Ali Amin Gandapur was present in the assembly during the meeting.
Prayer for martyrs
During the session of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, high-level prayers were also offered for the martyrs of the war against terrorism.
Babar Saleem nominated for Speaker KPK
PTI founder has nominated Babar Saleem for the Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
Babar Salim has won the provincial assembly seat from Mansehra.
Before him, the name of Asad Qaiser’s brother Aqibullah was chosen for the Speaker KP Assembly.
According to the sources, the decision was changed because of reservations about the nomination of Aqibullah in the party.
In this regard, Speaker Mushtaq Ghani has announced that the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the KP Assembly will be held on February 29.
He has said that the nomination papers for the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker can be submitted by 5 pm today, while the papers can be withdrawn till midnight.
Speaker Mushtaq Ghani also said that polling will be held tomorrow at 10 am for the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
During the entry of the members of the assembly into the assembly hall, the violence started.
The meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was noisy and workers of different political parties raised slogans against each other.
PTI workers tried to forcefully enter the assembly hall
On the occasion of the meeting, the PTI workers tried to forcefully enter the assembly hall, due to which the members of the assembly and PTI workers started fighting during the entry into the assembly.
A member of the Nationalist League came to the Assembly waving a watch
In the opening session of the Khyber-N-Khatunkhwa Assembly, which suffered from disorder, PML-N member Thobia Shahid entered the House waving a watch.
On this occasion, Tobia Shahid kept showing the watch to the people present in the hall.
The PTI workers present in the gallery of the Assembly threw loot, ballpoint, paper, empty bottles, and shoes at Shobia Shahid from inside the hall.
Internet service was partially affected
On the other hand, internet service has been partially affected in the provincial assembly and surrounding areas on the occasion of the meeting.
