Another PIA cabin crew member goes missing in Canada. This week is the second PIA air hostess to go missing in Canada, nearly 10 air hostesses assigned to Toronto flights have gone missing in two years.
According to PIA sources, another PIA air hostess posted on the Toronto flight went missing in Canada.
Flight attendant Jibran Baloch is the second air hostess to go missing in Canada this week after the flight attendant on PIA flight 782 failed to return to duty on February 29.
A search of Jibran Baloch’s room by the staff revealed his disappearance. PIA officials have reported the disappearance of the flight steward to the Toronto police.
In the same week, a female PIA cabin crew has also gone missing from the hotel. Submitting the passports of the staff on the Toronto flight to the authorities did not help.
About 10 air hostesses assigned to Toronto flights have slipped in two years, with both male and female PIA air hostesses among those missing in Canada.
The main reason for the disappearance of air hostesses is the bleak future of the national airline and extremely low salaries.
The salaries of PIA employees have not increased for many years and the duty timing is also very high, with air hostesses doing a mandatory 12-hour duty which increases to 14 and 16 hours continuously.
Air hostesses on a flight to Toronto are sometimes on duty for up to 21 hours straight.
