Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called Shafaat Ali on stage for his mimicry in a ceremony held in honor of the national hockey team on the lawn of the Prime Minister’s House.
Comedian Shafaat Ali, at the request of Shahbaz Sharif, imitated his tone, upon which the hall erupted with laughter and applause.
Shafaat Ali, who gained fame by impersonating eminent personalities and politicians, became nervous in front of the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister said to him, “Shafaat sir, please, but today you have not recited any chatkala. Come and recite the chatkala.” Shafaat Ali replied, “You have made it very difficult.” The Prime Minister said “Have mercy on me, the rest do what you want”, and “Let’s do what done to me”.
The prime minister smiled and encouraged comedian Shafaat Ali.
Addressing Prime Minister’s Youth Program Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Shafaat Ali said, “Rana Sahib, if these children are not seen as recruits in a week, then a meeting will be held in which other matters will be discussed, but sports will not be discussed.”
PM Shehbaz Sharif, Rana Mashhood, Information Minister Atta Tarr, and all the people present in the hall laughed spontaneously at Shafaat Ali’s meme.
The participants commented that in his presence, the Prime Minister established a tradition of open-heartedness, self-criticism, and encouraging talent by impersonating a comedian.
