Haris Rauf breaks Saqlain Mushtaq & Shaheen Afridi record

Pakistan cricket team’s fast bowler Haris Rauf achieved a major milestone in his career in the second ODI match against Australia.

In the second ODI against Australia, Haris Rauf took 5 wickets for 29 runs in 8 overs.

Haris Rauf, who emerged from the player development program of Lahore Qalandars, made his ODI debut on 30 October 2020, since then he has taken 77 wickets in 39 matches, which is the most of any wicket in this period (since Haris’ debut). Member has the most wickets by a fast bowler in the team.

Meanwhile, only Oman’s Bilal Khan is ahead of Haris with 83 wickets. Oman is an associate member team of the ICC.

This performance by Haris is also the most wickets in the opening 39 matches of any Pakistan bowler’s career.

By taking 5 wickets in Adelaide today, he broke the records of spinner Saqlain Mushtaq and fast bowler Shaheen Afridi who had taken 76 and 76 wickets in their first 39 matches.

Among other fast bowlers in the world, Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc took 79 wickets in 39 matches, while Oman’s Bilal Khan also has 83 wickets in 39 matches.

Nepali spinner Sandeep Limichane took 93 wickets in the first 39 ODIs, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan 90, and India’s Kuldeep Yadav 77 wickets.
