Shahid Afridi announces new T10 league in Pakistan

Lahore: Former Pakistan captain and league sniper Shahid Afridi on Monday announced the launch of the Mega Stars League (MSL) in September this year.

The league aims to provide financial support to former cricketers, players and sports journalists and will be played in T10 format.

Former legends Inzamam-ul-Haq, Waqar Younis and Mushtaq Ahmed unveiled details about the upcoming league.

Shahid Afridi said that Megastar League is an entertainment league which will be played in Rawalpindi in September this year.

The main purpose of introducing this league is to provide financial support to former cricketers, players and sports journalists.

He said that MSL would include six teams and foreign players would also participate in the upcoming league.

Asked about the possible return of departmental cricket to Pakistan, the Star League sniper said that everyone was missing it but every system should give a few seasons before rejecting it.

He concluded that I think everyone is remembering departmental cricket and that whatever the new system, it should have a chance to be active for a long time.
