Governor Punjab announces to file treason case against PM

Former Punjab Governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema has announced that he will go to court for registration of a large scale treason case under Article 6 of the Constitution.

According to Media report, Cheema further said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) believes that the Election Commission is deliberately delaying the delimitation of constituencies.

In a post on social media, he said that he has decided to file a case against the Prime Minister under Article 6 of the Constitution.

He said that the Prime Minister and his son is constantly abusing their powers by violating the law in Punjab.

Omar Cheema said, “I will take the case of the minister against the constitution to court.” It is pertinent to note that according to Article 6, any person who abrogates or breaks or suspends or suspends the Constitution through the use of force or expression of force or any other means, or to repeal or break it.

If he tries to suspend or postpone or conspires or commits serious treason through other unconstitutional means, then Parliament will arrange for the punishment of those found guilty of serious treason through law.

Meanwhile, PTI senior vice president Fawad Chaudhry said that the Election Commission was showing no interest in delimitation.

He claimed that any action in this regard would be illegal.

Talking to media outside the Supreme Court, he said that “all members of the Election Commission should be sent home”.

Criticizing Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, he said that he had completed four foreign tours but the value of Pakistani rupee against the dollar is still declining.

The PTI leader said that the next 72 hours are very important for the economy.

Similarly, former Minister for Development and Planning Asad Omar said that all economic indicators are showing a negative trend.

Meanwhile, PTI chairman Imran Khan has condemned the action taken against opposition leader Haleem Adil Sheikh in the Sindh Assembly and the registration of cases against him.
