The second death anniversary of Pakistan’s famous television compere and actor Tariq Aziz will be celebrated on Friday, June 17.
Tariq Aziz was born on April 28, 1936 in Jalandhar, India (subcontinent).
His father Mian Abdul Aziz emigrated to Pakistan in 1947.
Tariq Aziz spent his childhood in Sahiwal. He received his early education in Sahiwal.
Later, the well-known TV host started his professional life with Radio Pakistan Lahore.
When Pakistan Television was started in 1964, Tariq Aziz was the first male announcer of PTV.
His stage show ‘Neelaam Ghar‘ took him to the heights of fame, this program continued for many years and it was later renamed as Bazm-e-Tariq Aziz Show.
Apart from radio and TV programs, he also acted in movies.
His first film was ‘Insaniyat‘ 1967 and his other famous films include Saalgira, Kasam is Waqat, Katari, Chirag Kahan Roshni Kahan, Har Gaya Insan are notable.
He has received many awards for his artistic services.
Tariq Aziz was also awarded the Medal of Excellence by the Government of Pakistan in 1992.
Tariq Aziz passed away on June 17, 2020.
