Islamabad Police has arrested Shahbaz Gill, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Chief of Staff.
The case registered in the Kohsar police station has been filed by City Magistrate Ghulam Murtaza Chandio.
According to the FIR, Shahbaz Gill tried to divide the army in a private TV program and link officers of various ranks to a political party, also threatened the civil bureaucracy and tried to incite rebellion. Shahbaz Gill was produced before the District and Sessions Court by the Kohsar Police Station.
After hearing the arguments of the lawyers, the court handed over the leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf to the police on 2-day physical remand.
He will be presented in the court again tomorrow. Shahbaz Gill’s lawyer said that the integrity of the institution is not affected by the opinion of a single person, while Shahbaz Gill said that there is nothing to be ashamed of in my statement, my statement is the statement of a patriot, It is a declaration of love for my army, not trying to provoke anyone.
A four-member special investigation committee has been set up to investigate the case against Shahbaz Gill under 10 serious provisions including treason, headed by SSP Investigation Syed Farhat Kazmi, SDPO Kohsar, SHO Kohsar and A sub-inspector is included.
