PEMRA orders to stop broadcasting of private TV “Bol News and Bol Entertainment” in view of non-renewal of license.
The 174th meeting of Pemra Authority holds in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Pemra Chairman Muhammad Saleem Baig. In which the issues relate to the license of Labak Private Limited (Bol News and Bol Entertainment) is review.
The statement says that the issue licenses of Lubbock Pvt Ltd cancel in 2017. Because the Ministry of Home Affairs does not grant the security clearance.
In this regard, it is says that Pemra’s order challenge by the company in the Sindh High Court. And the broadcast continue during that time. But the Sindh High Court dispose of the case in 2021.
The broadcasting of the two channels will not allow until the Ministry of Interior issue the security clearance.
Pemra says that the 15-year term of Bol Entertainment’s license expire in December 2021. But the company does not apply to Pemra for license renewal.
Earlier in January 2021, Pemra suspends the license of Bol News for 30 days. And impose a fine of Rs 10 lakh for broadcasting ‘insulting’ statements against judges of the Lahore High Court.
PTI says in a statement on Twitter that banning the channel will affect thousands of people and their families.
“Today we are witnessing unimaginable fascism and censorship in Pakistan,” the statement says.
Chairman PTI Imran Khan in response says that this move is unacceptable.
The government impose censorship on media journalists and is taking worst actions.
Earlier, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry claims that from today once again Imran Khan’s interviews and speeches are ban on media.
Unwise decisions will lead to increase discrimination in the country.
On the other hand, well-known journalist Kamran Khan post on Twitter that Imran Khan’s statement regarding the appointment of the Chief of Army Staff yesterday echoed in the country, including the Pakistan Army.
He says that I am suppose to interview Imran Khan tonight, but I just come to know that it cannot broadcast in any case.
