Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa meets US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, US National Security Adviser Jack Sullivan and Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman during his visit to the US.
A special guard of honor is presents to Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on this occasion. The Army Chief thanks the US authorities for their support. He says, the help of international partners will be very important for the rehabilitation of the flood victims in Pakistan.
According to ISPR, during the meeting with the American leaders. The Army Chief expresses regret over the destruction caused by the storm in Florida.
He says that Pakistan understands the loss and pain of the victims’ families as Pakistan is also suffering from similar effects of climate change.
According to the spokesperson of the Pakistan Army, discussions are also hold on improving mutual cooperation between the two countries through economic relations, trade and investment.
During the meeting, coordination is found on major global issues including Afghanistan. Emphasis also place on increasing cooperation to avert humanitarian crisis and improve peace and stability in the region.
