Hours before its June 16 theatrical release, “Adipurush” made accessible to watch on the video-sharing website, YouTube, after leaked on a number of Torrent sites, including Tamilrockers, Movierulez, and Telegram, to stream and download in HD quality.
The mythological action movie reportedly available to watch in HD on a YouTube channel and received at least 2.3 million views in a matter of hours before removed, according to reports from Indian news outlets.
Manoj Muntashir, the film’s writer, later apologized for the dialogue in the movie that caused controversy and hurt viewers’ feelings. “I accept that Adipurush has hurt people’s feelings. I sincerely apologize and offer my hands in the air,” he wrote on the social media platform Instagram.
