The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released the schedule to host England on its soil after 17 years, the series of 7 T20 International matches between the two teams will be played from September 20 to October 2 in Karachi and Lahore.
The first 4 matches of the series will be played at National Stadium Karachi, these matches will be played on September 20, 22, 23 and 25, while the remaining 3 matches will be played on September 28, 30 and October 2 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. It will start at 7:30 pm Pakistan time.
After the T20 series, the two teams will meet again in December to play a 3-Test series.
Director International PCB Zakir Khan has said that he is happy that Pakistan’s busy home international season is starting with the arrival of the England cricket team in Karachi and Lahore.
Zakir Khan says that before the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup, playing a 7-match series against one of the best T20 sides in the world will help the national cricket team in preparing for the mega event.
Zakir Khan says that Pakistan has successfully hosted Australia in March and April and they will repeat the same arrangement to host England, who are visiting Pakistan for the first time since 2005.
He said that the England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed the visit only after the satisfaction of the cricket team which visited Pakistan last month to review the arrangements.
Director International PCB said that he is confident that fans will flock to the stadium to support both the teams in the T20 International series.
MD England Cricket Rob Kay says that the English cricket team is looking forward to returning to Pakistan and this series of 7 T20 International matches will help them in their preparations for the ICCT20 World Cup.
He said that he is in constant touch with the PCB, British High Commission and other relevant authorities regarding the arrangements for this series and then the Test series in Pakistan later this year.
Rob Kay says he is grateful to the PCB and local administration for the pre-tour arrival of the ECB and PCA representatives and their support in planning the tour schedule.
