Aitzaz Ahsan demands resignation of Shehbaz Sharif. Senior attorney Aitzaz Ahsan has demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif following the dissolution of the seven-member bench, according to News.
The seven-member bench that hearing appeals against the civilians’ military court trials disbanded in response to government objections. After that, Shehbaz Sharif urged to resign from his position by senior attorney Aitzaz Ahsan during media interviews outside of court.
Aitzaz Ahsan criticized the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) administration, claiming that the government not hold elections on October 8, which the date set by the coalition administration for general elections.
He claimed that the Jamiat Ulema-e Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Fazlur Rehman and PML-N vice president and chief organizer Maryam Nawaz had undermined the legitimacy of the courts through their speeches and rallies.

Aitzaz Ahsan stated that “their responses and speeches at rallies are in and of themselves contempt of court.”
The senior attorney added that the Supreme Court should strip the political figures found guilty of contempt of court from their positions.
