Android 14 to bring Satellite SMS

Android 14 to bring Satellite SMS. Google released the Android 13 operating system last year, and is currently preparing to release the Android 14 operating system later this year. Although Android 14 still in the testing stage, some anticipated improvements and features made public online.

Android 14 will support satellite connectivity for smartphones, which is an exciting feature. Users will therefore be able to send emergency message alerts even in areas without WiFi or cellular service. A similar function debuted by Apple with the iPhone 14 series last year.

Android 14 will enable satellite connectivity support for SMS and other features for smartphones that have the necessary hardware, according to a tweet from TeamPixel (@GooglePixelFC) on Twitter.

Users of the Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy are most likely to have access to this feature first. However, the manufacturer must install the required hardware in order for other Android phones to use satellite-based communication.

When this feature becomes available, it will be very beneficial for smartphone users in isolated locations without WiFi or a cellular network.

Through satellite connectivity, they will be able to send SMS messages, ensuring that they can still communicate in an emergency.

Pakistan introduces WhatsApp-Like App

The iPhone 14 series introduced Apple’s emergency SOS via satellite feature, which was initially only accessible in the US and Canada. It later spread to additional nations, including the UK, France, Germany, Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and Portugal.

In addition to connecting users to emergency services, this feature enables users to share their location with friends and family via the Find My app.
