Pakistan Army will conduct an inquiry against Lieutenant General (R) Faiz Hameed.
The Pakistan Army started the process of self-accountability. The Army formed a committee on the issue of a large private housing society near Islamabad Airport. Which will headed by a Major General.
The petitioner taken the stand that on the instructions of former DGISI Lt. Gen. (retd) Faiz Hameed, secret agency officials along with Rangers raided the house of the society owner, looted a huge amount, and the housing society was transferred to its nominated representative. Pressed to do so, filed false cases to put pressure on the family.
On November 11, 2023, a bench consisting of Justice Aminuddin Khan and Justice Athar Minullah headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa held a hearing.
The owner of the society, Kunwar Mueez, approached the Ministry of Defense and action taken.
According to the details, the Pakistan Army has formed a committee on the issue of a large private housing society near Islamabad Airport. The high-level inquiry committee will headed by a Major General.
Therefore, the Pakistan Army has decided to conduct a high-level inquiry by starting the process of self-accountability.
In November last year, the owner of a private housing society, Kunwar Mueez, filed a constitutional petition under Article 184/3 of the Constitution to seek judicial review in the Supreme Court against the former high-ranking officials of the army. Six people, including former officials of the Secret Service, made a party to the case.
On November 11, 2023, a bench consisting of Justice Aminuddin Khan and Justice Athar Minullah headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa held a hearing.
So, the lawyer of the private housing society had taken a stand in the court on the instructions of General Faiz Hameed. The secret agency officials committed crimes against him. And the secret agency officials along with the Rangers raided the house and office of Kunwar Mueez.
Detained the petitioner and his family, jewelry, and a huge amount of money, pressured the housing society to transfer its nominated representative and filed false cases against the petitioner and his family to pressure them.
In the hearing, the Additional Attorney General said that the petitioner has other legal avenues for redressal of his grievance. However, on the apprehension that these officials are related to the army, no action will taken.
On the assurance that if Kunwar Mueez applied to the Ministry of Defense. He would be dealt with according to law, the court had automatically disposed of the notice.
According to the sources, in January of this year, Kunwar Mueez approached the Ministry of Defense. And an inquiry committee was formed under the leadership of Major General.
