Boxer Aamir Khan was banned for 2 years

Pakistani-born British boxer Aamir Khan has banned for 2 years for violating doping rules.

As per British media, Aamir Khan used prohibited drugs, under the anti-doping rules. Aamir Khan will not be able to participate in any sport for 2 years.

According to British media, the ban on 36-year-old Aamir Khan will end in April 2024.

According to reports, Aamir tested after his fight with Kyle Berwick in 2022. And after losing that match, Amir Khan retired.

Khan, a former light-welterweight world champion and Olympic silver medalist, returned a positive result for the anabolic agent ostarine after his loss to Kell Brook in Manchester in February 2022, UK Anti-Doping said on Tuesday. Ostarine is a selective androgen receptor modulator that can aid in muscle growth.

Boxer Aamir Khan, who announced his retirement three months after the fight, accepted a violation of anti-doping rules but said he had not intentionally ingested the substance. That was accepted by an independent panel following a hearing in January.

His ban will expire on April 5, 2024.
