Former national cricketer and fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has parted ways with his biographical film ‘Rawalpindi Express’. He says that due to repeated violations of the contract, he has to end the relationship with the film management.
He writes on Twitter, ‘It is with great regret that I have decided to part with Rawalpindi Express due to repeated violations.
“I have decided through my legal team and management to terminate the contract with the makers of the film”.
Explaining the reasons behind the termination of the contract, the former fast bowler writes, “It is definitely my dream to make a film on my life. I tried hard to make it come true but unfortunately things did not work out.”
Shoaib Akhtar says that ‘due to failure to resolve differences amicably and repeated violations of the agreement. I finally had to end my relationship with him.’
He further says that he has legally parted ways with the project. Legal action will taken if the makers of the film continue with the project. And try to use my life events and my name in the film.
It should noted that the director of the film, Muhammad Faraz Qaiser, said that it was his dream to give the color of reality to the film based on the life of Shoaib Akhtar.
The film ‘Rawalpindi Express’ scheduled to release in November this year. The first time a film based on the life of any Pakistani player announced in July last year.
It was also announced that the role of Shoaib Akhtar in the film will be played by singer and model Umair Jaswal.
In November 2022, singer Umair Jaswal confirmed by posting on Instagram that he would not playing the former fast bowler in ‘Rawalpindi Express’ due to personal reasons .
