Child killer British nurse jailed for life

Child killer British nurse jailed for life. The most prolific child killer in modern British history started her life in prison on Monday after killing seven newborn babies and attempting to kill six more while they were in her care.

Nurse Lucy Letby given a rare whole-life order by a judge in Manchester, northwest England, which means she will never be free. The harshest punishment possible and only given to those who commit the most heinous crimes.

Judge James Goss declared, “The court’s order is a whole-life order on each and every offense, and you will spend the rest of your life in prison.”

However, Lucy Letby, 33, angered the parents of her young victims by declining to attend the sentencing hearing. As a result, politicians promised to close the loophole.

While “coldly” denying guilt throughout the trial, James Goss claimed she had acted with “pre-meditation, calculation, and cunning” and “malevolence bordering on sadism.”

While the majority of her young victims experienced severe pain, she lied her coworkers at the Countess of Chester Hospital about what she had actually done.

Lucy Letby kept medical notes as “morbid records” about what she done, which found throughout police searches of her home after she arrested.

“You have no remorse,” the judge said. “There are no mitigating factors.”

“You acted in a way that was completely contrary to the normal human instincts of nurturing and caring for babies, and in gross breach of the trust that all citizens place in those who work in the medical and caring professions,” he added.

“Lifelong harm” caused to her victims’ families by cutting short young lives “almost as soon as they began”, the judge said.

“Loving parents robbed of their cherished children. You have caused deep psychological trauma,” he added.

Letby has become one of Britain’s most infamous serial killers as a result of the killings, which occurred between June 2015 and June 2016. No motives for the killings revealed.

In the UK, about 70 criminals are currently serving lifetime sentences.

Only three women have ever received this punishment: serial killers Rose West and Joanna Dennehy, as well as “Moors Murderer” Myra Hindley, who killed five children in the 1960s with her boyfriend Ian Brady. In 2002, Myra Hindley perished.

2000, a whole-life sentence given to Harold Shipman, a physician who suspected of having killed up to 250 of his patients but only admitted to killing 15.

In 2004, he killed herself in his cell.
