Clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan

Nearly 100 soldiers are kill in the bloodiest clash since the 2020 between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The war is over the dispute territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to media report. The latest wave of clashes in the tense Armenian-populated region of Azerbaijan ended in an unsustainable ceasefire mediated by Russia.

But on Tuesday, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry says 50 of its soldiers kill as a result of heavy provocations by Armenia. While Armenia earlier claims at least 49 of its own soldiers kill. ‎

Azerbaijan accuses Armenia of violating the ceasefire after overnight clashes that raises fears of another deadly war between the arch-rivals.

Russia says it is close to brokering a ceasefire between the warring sides after several hours of relative peace between the two countries. But later, Azerbaijan accuses Armenian forces of grave violations of the agreement.

Armenia appeals to world leaders for help. Saying that the troops of the hostile border country of Azerbaijan are trying to advance on its territory for violence.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken calls the leaders of the two countries.

A spokesman for Anthony Blanken says Washington would warn for an immediate end to fight. And a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

French President Emmanuel Macron calls his Azerbaijani counterpart to express his deep concern. And urge them to respect the ceasefire agreement.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Armenia calls French President Emmanuel Macron, Russian President Vladimir Putin, US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken and demands an appropriate response to Azerbaijan’s aggressive actions.

The deadly clashes on Tuesday came as Armenia’s closest ally, Russia, which deploy thousands of peacekeepers to the region since the 2020 war, is reeling from its invasion of Ukraine six months ago.

Armenia’s Defense Ministry says that clashes decrease since the ceasefire. But the situation on the border remains extremely tense.

On the other hand, Turkey expresses solidarity and support with its regional ally Azerbaijan over the latest deadly clashes in the Caucasus region and asked Armenia to stop its provocative actions against Baku.

Armenia should stop its provocations and focus on peace talks and cooperation with Azerbaijan, the Turkish foreign minister tweets after speaking on the phone with his Azerbaijani counterpart.

Ankara supports Baku in the 2020 conflict, supplying it with combat drones.

Turkish support and military aid helps Azerbaijan regain much of the territory it lost in Nagorno-Karabakh in a bloody war after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.
