Court rejects Imran’s appeal to cancel arrest warrants. A local court in Islamabad turned down PTI Chairman and previous prime minister Imran Khan’s plea seeking cancellation of the non-bailable arrest warrants issued for him in Toshakhana case.
Holding the arrest warrants, Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal pronounced the ruling on Monday.
Khan’s Lawyer Ali Bokhari Advocate requested the court to provide a way as his client wanted to appear before the court.
He said that Imran Khan had always respected the judiciary.
The court said that the PTI’s chief could move to IHC for bail cancellation and later dismissed the petition.
It stated here that Islamabad Police had raided the residence of Khan on Sunday afterward the lower court issued his non-bailable arrest warrants.
Previously in the day, the court reserved its decision on the petition. Imran submitted an application to the district court in Islamabad seeking the cancellation of his non-bailable arrest warrants.
The request filed in the court of Additional Session Judge Zafar Iqbal who issued Imran’s non-bailable arrest warrants on Feb 28 following his nonstop non-appearance before the court in the Toshakhana case in which his summons was due.

The Islamabad police on Sunday reached Zaman Park, Lahore to arrest the PTI chief in compliance with the court orders but left empty-handed as Imran continued elusive and dodged the police.
