The advance booking of the science fiction film Kalki 2898 AD by Nag Ashwin, a well-known director from South India’s Telugu film industry, which will be released in theaters on Thursday, June 27, is going on.
Starring Telugu superstar Prabhas, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and others, the film has now grossed over $2.6 million in North America.
Advance bookings for the film have begun in North America, according to distributors, they have sold 77,000 tickets so far.
Meanwhile, the film’s pre-release event was held in Mumbai recently where Rana Daggubati asked actor Kamal Haasan if he thought the ordinary-looking Nag Ashwin was capable of making this kind of film.
Responding to the question, Kamal Haasan replied that I know such ordinary-looking people who do extraordinary things, my guru Balachandra also used to be a government official.
