According to Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB), a power outage caused the 72-inch pipeline at Dhabeji to burst, which resulted in the shutdown of four pumps and the suspension of 530 million gallons of water supply to the port city.

Alternative water supply plans for the city not yet announced by the water board authorities.
