Renowned Islamic scholar and preacher Dr. Zakir Naik reached Islamabad.
Prime Minister Youth Program Chairman Rana Mashhood and Additional Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs Ataur Rehman welcomed him.
Dr. Zakir Naik will address public gatherings in Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore.
He will also meet with high government officials during his stay in Pakistan.
It should be noted that Dr. Zakir Naik while sharing the post on X said that he will visit Pakistan along with his son Sheikh Faruk Naik at the invitation of the Government of Pakistan.
According to the schedule shared on social media, Dr. Zakir Naik will address Karachi on October 5 and 6, Lahore on October 12 and 13, and Islamabad on October 19 and 20.
It was also mentioned in the social media post that his address will also be broadcast live on the religious TV channel Peace TV.
It should be remembered that in 2016, the Indian government banned Dr. Zakir Naik’s organization ‘Islamic Research Foundation’ for 5 years after accusing it of involvement in illegal activities.
Later, 58-year-old Dr. Zakir Naik was charged with treason and money laundering in India in 2019, after which it became almost impossible for him to return to India.
According to Dr. Zakir Naik, when he realized that he would never be able to return to India, he planned to visit Pakistan in 2020. Still, due to the global outbreak of the coronavirus, it was not possible.
