Elon Musk, advisor to the newly elected US President Donald Trump, has met with the Iranian UN ambassador.
The American media confirmed the meeting of Elon Musk and Emir Saeed Erawani concerning two Iranian officials. They said the two personalities discussed issues related to ending the tension between the two countries.
The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, said during the election campaign that he wants to end wars.
The meeting took place at a secret location and lasted for more than an hour, which the Iranian authorities have described as positive and good news.
The meeting was requested by Elon Musk while the venue was chosen by the Iranian UN ambassador.
According to an Iranian Foreign Ministry official, Ambassador Erawani told Elon Musk to ask the US Treasury Department to lift sanctions on Iran and invited him to bring some of his businesses to Tehran. However, the Iranian mission did not state the meeting.
Trump adviser Elon Musk also did not comment on the latest meeting, but Trump communications director Steven Cheung said he would not comment on private meetings that may or may not have taken place.
Interim spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt said the American people elected Donald Trump president because they trust him to lead the country back to peace through strength. Donald Trump will do the same once he takes office.
During his first term in office, Donald Trump ended the Iran nuclear deal and imposed more sanctions on Tehran.
It was Donald Trump who ordered the killing of Iran’s General Qassem Soleimani in Iraq. After which the supreme leader of Iran ended the negotiations with the Trump administration and threatened to take revenge for the killing of General Soleimani.
Before the news of the meeting, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Irkachi had met with the head of the United Nations nuclear watchdog.
In a later statement, he said that differences can be resolved through cooperation and dialogue.
Iran agrees to move forward with courage and good faith. Iran has never left the negotiating table on the issue of a peaceful nuclear program.
