Geo Films “The Glassworker” premiered at Cannes Film Festival

Pakistan’s first hand-made animated film “The Glassworker” has been screened at the world’s largest Cannes Film Festival.

Presented by Geo Films produced by Mano Animation Studio will be released across Pakistan this summer under the banner of Geo Films and Mandoviwala Entertainment.

On the occasion of the screening of the film “The Glassworker” at the Cannes Film Festival, a panel discussion of the filmmakers was organized by Pakistan Crescent Collective.

Director Usman Riaz said that I started this journey 10 years ago in 2014 and at that time no one believed that this film would gain so much fame.

On the other hand, the film’s producer Khizr Riaz said that it is a “dream come true” for a Pakistani film to be recognized by the international animation industry.

Pakistan Academy Selection Committee Chairman Mohammad Naqvi said that the manner in which “The Glass Worker” has represented Pakistan at the Cannes Film Festival is a matter of pride for all of us as Pakistanis.

“The Glassworker” is the first film from the subcontinent to be selected for competition at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2024.

The Glassworker was selected for official competition alongside Hollywood and Japanese animated films, which is a huge honor.

It should be noted that Geo Films has previously presented many famous and masterpiece films to its audience which were always loved by the public.

Apart from this, Geo Films has also played an important role in the revival of Pakistani cinemas.

Films Khuda Kay Liay, Boal, Teefa in Trouble, The Legend of Maula Jatt, and Donkey King have been produced by Geo Films and have been immensely popular with the audience.
