The Punjab government on Wednesday reinstated the notification for the closure of markets and shops in the province at 9:00 PM later giving relaxation in view of the religious festival of Eidul Azha.
From today, all shops, markets, shopping centres will have to be closed at 9:00 PM, although the closure timings of all hotels, restaurants, cinemas and theatres will be 11:30 PM.
Correspondingly, the owners of marriage halls will have to wind up their business by 10:30 PM; conversely, petrol pumps, hospitals, medical stores and milk shops are released from these restrictions.
Conferring to the new schedule, all shops will have one weekly off.
The provincial government had condensed working hours at these places as a part of its plan to save energy so that load-shedding hours could be curtailed.
